Macy’s signs exclusive Kenneth Cole line Macy’s Inc. will be the exclusive retailer for a collection of men’s sportswear from Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. The Kenneth Cole Reaction men’s sportswear line will debut in September at 150 Macy’s stores and on macys.com, according to a news release. A spokesman said the retailer isn't revealing which stores will debut the line, but the Cincinnati area will "most likely" be among them. Eventually it will roll out the line to about 550 Macy’s stores. The addition continues Macy’s strategy of offering exclusive clothing lines from well-known designers. Over the past year, the retailer has introduced exclusive women’s lines from Rachel Roy and Ellen Tracy, as well as the Threads & Heirs line for men. The Reaction collection is aimed at younger, casual and price-conscious customers. It features denim, graphic T-shirts and woven shirts. “By bringing the new Reaction men’s sportswear collection exclusively to Macy’s, we are continuing to differentiate our assortment and provide additional options for the man who wants to look and feel his best,” said Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and CEO, in the release. Macy’s also carries the Kenneth Cole New York collection and other Reaction lines, including tailored clothing, footwear, outerwear and accessories. Macy’s (NYSE: M), with corporate offices in Cincinnati and New York, operates about 850 department stores in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.
